Mindset over Circumstances

When the World Is Low, Will You Rise or Sink?

There are moments in life when circumstances fall out from under us — a failure, a loss, a stretch of uncertainty. And in those moments, we often assume that it’s our situation that defines us. But experience has taught me something different: it’s not your circumstances that shape you. It’s your state of mind.

Two States, One Situation

In low circumstances, you have two choices:

  1. You can be low.

  2. You can be high.

It sounds simple, but the difference is profound.

  • When you’re low in low times, you begin to spiral. Your inferiority complex finds fertile ground. You hesitate, overthink, withdraw — and the world seems like a mirror of your own doubt.

  • But if you manage to stay high while your situation is low — even if you’re just pretending at first - your goals stay visible. Your energy finds direction. You begin to move, and motion breaks stagnation.

Your confidence doesn't come from what surrounds you.
It comes from what you decide not to let in.

This Isn’t Just Optimism - It’s Discipline

Staying “high” in hard times isn’t about faking happiness or pretending everything’s fine. It’s about discipline. It's choosing clarity over confusion. It’s the stubborn decision to protect your mindset, even when the world gives you every reason not to.

This mirrors teachings that go back centuries:

  • The Stoics taught that we are not disturbed by events, but by our opinions of them.

  • Viktor Frankl reminded us that even in the darkest conditions, we still possess the freedom to choose our attitude.

  • The Bhagavad Gita speaks of equanimity — remaining undisturbed in pleasure or pain, gain or loss.

In all of these, the common thread is the same: your internal state is more powerful than any external chaos.

No One Can Do It For You

Here’s the part most people don’t like to admit: no one can save you from a low mindset except you.

Yes, people can support you. Yes, friends and mentors matter. But ultimately, the first step — the moment where you decide “I’m not going to let this break me” — can only come from you.

The choice to rise must be made in silence.
It’s a private rebellion no one else can fight for you.

The Exit is in the Mind

When you’re stuck in a difficult circumstance, the only real path out begins with your state. If you work on your inner stability, there is a probability — sometimes a high one — that you’ll come through stronger, clearer, and wiser. But if you remain trapped by fear, doubt, or inferiority, your options narrow.

If you want the world to change, start by refusing to shrink inside it.

Meticulous- "Life out of the Bubble"

  FOREVER STRANGE AND UNPREDICTABLE LIFE
As they say, Life is an illusion; reality is a figment of the imagination and nothing in this world is permanent. People often might think such statements are scholarly and philosophical which will be uttered only by nuns or ascetics who wouldn't expect anything from life but one should know that life won't turn out exactly like they thought it would be, the person you thought you couldn't live without and would spend the rest of your life with, will shatter your heart, but you'll live. Like seasons, things change in a way more unpredictable.Food won't even tastes the same and you won't feel like eating it,but you do. Your best friend, your soul-sister who you talk to everyday, the time will come when you go for months without talking to her. I know that's hard to fathom because she is the other side of your heartbeat. She's hillarious and fun and everything you'd want in a sister if you had ONE but your paths will not be the same and before you realize it, you all have is very little in common. You will struggle with this for years and still do. Yet the earth will rotate, the sun will rise and set and you will heal and move on.
Everything fades away one day,be it tangible or intangible. We don't have to force anything that's truly meant to be, will just have to accept the life as it comes without repenting and quibbling for trivial matters.
